Vintage "Miguel de Cervantes" Leather Decanter

A local, secondhand find ready for a new life! 

The backstory: "This is a vintage Spanish hand-tooled leather-wrapped liquor decanter. These types of decorative glass bottles were heavily popular souvenirs and barware items produced in Spain and Italy during the mid-to-late 20th century (primarily the 1960s and 1970s). 

The face embossed in the center of the medallion depicts the famous Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes wearing a traditional 16th-century ruff collar. Many bottles from this specific series feature Cervantes on one side and his legendary literary characters, Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, or Spanish conquistadors on the other sides."

Things to know/Condition:

• Condition: Used, but in good condition
• Cap/cork is slightly cut, so the seal may not be fully "airtight". (See photos)
• Leather is vibrant and good condition
